Just post the damn salary range and avoid wasting people's time.
In the company where I work now, in Texas, they do NOT EVER post the salary ranges.. Never ever...Even if we apply for an internal opening we go in blindly, not knowing what the increase would be. stupid.. yes..can I change it-no... have we asked, yes...happened today actually. A new supervisory role just opened up and only 4 of us are qualified. We asked about salary--oh, HR will have to get with you on that, once you 1 apply. 2 interview twice and 3. get the actual job...dumbest ever...
“Culture fit” interview? Wow, what a modern way to discriminate against people. “It has nothing to do with your age, race, or sex. You just aren’t a good match for our culture.”

Yeah that’s insanity!
I wish all recruiters and interviewers had this attitude. I swear getting them to provide a salary range is like pulling teeth sometimes. I will never understand it. Why not just tell me to keep from wasting everyone's time if it's not aligned with my expectations?
Pro
exactly! save everyone the hassle of going through the red tape and wasted time and effort
Pro
Absolutely agree! Discussing salary early saves everyone time. If there’s a big gap, it’s better to know upfront. It keeps things respectful and efficient!
Pro
agreed! its bad enough as is with the existing interview and application process. can we just make it easier and more efficient?
Agree, but companies already know that. They want to try and rope in somebody and offer the lower salary range, knowing full well they would have stepped away at the start.
Pro
thats so terrible! those people tend to quit shortly after anyway so it doesnt really help their cause even if they do end up taking the offer

I have been there more times than you know! Luckily I like my job so I don’t need to move unless the offer was REALLY good!
