I wish people will stop peddling influencers tweets as gospel. This is not even a good one. Its a statement by everyone who really really want to believe that AI is just another tool

Sure, just trust the random guy on the internet - who goes by Chief Roadblock remover and sells random tech books 💁🏻‍♂️

Milan, is that you?

This just isn't true. Developers are ones bragging about not writing code anymore. I think SWE's will be the first casualty since AI stole all their work from github and other places.

Yeah, the take in this tweet stopped being the case around December of last year. People who know how to use these tools the best are outsourcing 80% of their code development to them now. The generation of models that came out at the end of November hit the 50% mark on the toughest Coding benchmarks, and that appears to have been a tipping point.

Here's one of the cofounders of OpenAI saying as much himself:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/josipamajic/2026/03/22/ai-agents-wrote-80-of-karpathys-code-junior-developers-are-paying-the-price/

It’ll replace the need for new junior devs

I think the hope is that it’ll be good enough to review its own code, and the same has been said of developers growing up on stack overflow. They’ve been bragging for years that their one skill is copy /paste.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Our firm told everyone no bonuses this year due to the pandemic. However, people like myself with high utilization received a “bonus” in terms of a gift card. My director notified me of this, but the other day my boss was mentioning how no bonuses this year really sucks. I was told by the director to not mention it to anyone but I figured if anyone knew I got one it’d be my boss. I feel super uncomfortable now because do I essentially lie to my boss because I’m not supposed to talk about it.

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
