Hi Guys,
I have been assigned to a Unbillable Project, they are building one app and have recruited people from the talent pool. The project is not registered in GLOW. And they are calling it as Voluntary Contribution type project for studio. Is this what they call Internal Project in Globant?
Will there be any impact if I don't perform as per their expectations?
Will it be of any benefit to me if work in voluntary project? Will HR recognize this project contribution as valid work?

I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I’m about to start an internship at IBM for UX Research. I’m super excited about it, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the design culture there or how the company is for designers? So far online I’ve only heard about the company from consultants or software engineers. For more reference I’ll be working in Austin.

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Email your RP and keep HR in the loop, and write a few lines about your personal reason ! Should be straight forward to change offices once RP approves
Talk to HR and RP. How easy it is will depend on what you do (e.g., does your practice travel a lot or mainly stay local), current staffing levels at your destination city, etc. Usually it gets done without much trouble unless you're a lower performer or they're trying to trim headcount where you're going.
I have. Granted, I did it right after a promotion when retention concerns are high, and I'm in a national practice within Advisory, so made things a little easier.
Reach out to your HR manager.
Talk to the partner on your current project (believe it or not, this is the approval that is necessary).
HR manager will confirm it with your current project partner, and then the practice leader.
New market has to agree to accept, and then local market has to agree to the departure.
I moved to beach in Florida 4 years ago. You should let partner(s) know as economics may change for travel to projects. Contact HR for timing, office change and for home tax state. If not moving to city with PwC office then you need to decide closest office that has other people in practice if that is a concern like if office mostly is audit and your Advidory
One thing I might add, because my HR manager made it very clear that the first (and one of the more important) approvals was the engagement partner, I made a case to him from a project economics standpoint, specifically that my airfare costs would decrease 50-70% per week. That was all he needed to hear.
Thank you everyone! Appreciate the insight 👍
