Is it rude to not answer your manager's/colleague's phone calls beyond your working hours? Will it invite any serious repurcussions?

Do you think it would be better to add a female associate to my practice or a male or do you think it wouldn't matter as long as they're qualified. I know sounds like I'm stepping into a mine field but I'll concede a woman adds different intrinsic attributes to a team- on the other hand, I've already got a wife maybe I should steer clear??

Why firm is “begging” for employees? I mean firm is now paying more and adding more benefits to show what can employee get and try to keep or attract them. Aren't they know that in a romantic relationship, the more you say “please don't leave me, I will do anything for you ”, the easier the other party to control you? and you will not get respect? I’m getting a little frustrated but he’s very senior on our team so there’s nothing I can really do.

I work at a ‘free market’ firm and have developed a very good reputation among partners. Naturally, they are drowning me in work. Each time a new case comes up, the partner will email asking if I have “time and interest” in helping. When I’m at capacity, I take these words at face value and explain why I can’t do it, and that seems to work out ok with no hard feelings. But what’s the “interest” thing? If I don’t want to work on a toxic tort case, do I just say that and pass?

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

I asked for revised compensation from infosys based on parallel offer letter and got below response:
Compensation is determined for various roles, based on the competency and the experience a candidate comes in with. We also look at ensuring parity amongst any other internal employee with similar competency.  Considering these facts, we will not be in position to change compensation.
Please advise how to negotiate further.
