My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?

I am a new associate (1 month in mid-tier firm) and I struggle to get work to fill up the whole day. In honest time, i get about 3-5 billable hours a day. Can someone help me understand why people are pumping crazy money into DoorDash and AirBnb but didn’t go equally Gaga for Palantir?
Don’t get me wrong, I like DD and Airbnb, but the $100+/share seems odd to me given that both are susceptible to regulatory and overall consumer confidence. I was able to buy into PLTR for $11/ share fwiw and think that company has better long-term upside prospects.
But again, would love to better understand the DASH and ABNB mania. Feel like I’m missing something

McK 🐠 : CBS MBA here and I got invited to interview for the SA role in Atlanta. Any case/experience tips to maximize my chances of getting an offer?

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

When the layoffs hit the BBbanks, where are the first cuts amongst IB, sell side research, buy side research, trading, sales, operations? Maybe rank starting with first out.

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.
