what is “neurological safety TM”?

as a neurodivergent person often overwhelmed by toxic-to-me environments, i describe neurological safety (NS) as the conditions that invite one to “keep calm and carry on”.

there are 3 critical ingredients, and the absence of any one of which can lead to stress, overwhelm & an invitation to disengage.

to have NS, an environment must be:

1. sensory supportive
2. cognitively kind
3. emotionally engaging
