At what income level should one be comfortable to spend 2400/mo on rent in HCOL? Assuming single, no kids, no debt or major expenses.

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

How many coachees do people generally have? I had four, which I thought was more than enough, but got six more assigned just now taking the total to ten! Seems like a ridiculous expectation. Is there anyone who's coaching more than 5? Am I the only one complaining about this?
