Any insight on the WilmerHale corporate group in Boston? I’ve heard firms with strong appellate practices have much more humanistic corporate practices / better culture compared to traditional corpora…
Whats the reputation of the corporate practice at WilmerHale in its San Fran and Palo Alto offices?
Pros & cons at: 1. Morrison Mahoney (Boston) 2. Ropes & Gray (Boston/NY) 3. WilmerHale (NY/DC/Boston)
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Do you use a second monitor for your laptop? If so, which brand do you use? I have sidetrack and it’s a hit or miss when it will work.
Does anyone have a dashboard or excel template for turnover/attrition where data can be easily “dumped” in for a beautiful display? TIA!
Can anyone recommend a certificate or course that is actually useful for developing professionals and/or reviewing performance? I don’t want/need something that is just a credential, I’m actually looking to get some formal grounding in these two topics so I can overhaul processes at my consulting firm. Thanks for your advice!!!
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
What is reasonable salary when taking billable rate into account? I’ve heard one third of billable rate x billable hour expectation. Hoping to provide some back up when I negotiate my raise in January.
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?

Anyone have people who work for clients who are either young or inexperienced and treat you as outside counsel like you’re their bitch...except 90% of the time they have no clue what they are doing?
How long do you typically allow for self assessments and manager assessments for year-end? This year we gave employees a week and managers 3 weeks (holidays not included), but they still said it wasn’t long enough even though most waited until the very last day to complete them.
Is it worth making a 3-4 day trip to Houston and San Antonio? Any recommendations? From chicago, looking for a warm getaway.
Been in Mgmt Consulting for a little over 2 years and looking to switch to Tech Consulting role at different B4 or ACN. Is 100K reasonable salary expectation for big market location? Around 20% bump
What is the best way to learn about different roles in FAANG? I was a MBB consultant in India. I am in the US now with a AI products company. I work well on the intersection of technology and business. I have conceptualised and deployed multiple enterprise products over the last 2 years. I am looking to move to a bigger organization now. However I don't want to get into corporate strategy roles. What are some other roles that could be a good fit for me?
Had a performance review discussion today. I was promoted to manager in October. The partner asked how long I had been with the firm (4.5yrs), then how long I’d taken for maternity leave. He then told me it was like I’ve only been working 3.5 years, since I’d been on maternity leave twice since joining. He was saying this in a negative way, and I just can’t wrap my head around it. WTF would make him say something like that?
What’s that salary website that members post here on occasion for more accurate salary data from companies like FAANG Mbb big 4 and IB? Not glassdoor, not paysa, payscale, it’s not as well known
I think this is the perfect time to create a national medical peace corps. Get doctors to sign up for a presitigious program that directs them to where they're needed most, and pay accordingly

Finishing my second year at a big bank and I’m over it. Idk how I’m going to do this for 20+ years. Don’t get me wrong I’ll put in the hours - I want the vacation houses, nice cars, traveling experiences - but how much I hate myself during the week makes me question if it is even worth it.
Employer 4 weeks ago: Everyone stay home. Keep working where you can. 2 weeks: If you aren’t on a project, use vacation time. This week: you can go on leave or part time employment. Next week: ?
Been feeling burned out since mid-2020 never really recovered properly, on a pretty screwy assignment right now and just received a verbal offer to a promotion with better comp elsewhere doing similar work. Why am I not excited at all? I think the pandemic or Accenture has broken my will to work.😭
How long is too long on the bench?
anyone heard about another round of layoffs coming to consulting this fall? Just a rumor or any truth to it?
CDC's current best estimate is that 35% of Covid infections are asymptomatic and mortality rate for symptomatic infections is only 0.4%. Hindsight is 20/20, but this was all a huge overreaction and not worth the economic cost and long-term negative impact of shutting everything down. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html
Advice please: got a first round interview with a company a month ago. Ended up declining the interview because while I was waiting for recruiter to get back to me, I accepted another offer (Cont)
I like consulting, but I am more interested in improving patient outcomes. Depending on the project I am on, usually that’s not a huge driver for the project or what my role focuses on. I am currently aligned to Health at ACN. I would like to move to industry where member centric care, patient outcomes, reducing disparities etc is at the forefront preferably using health technology. Anyone have suggestions?
