Hello please can I find Victoria’s boot camp I keep hearing about this being great to study for shrm exam but I can’t find it anywhere thank you
Anyone take SHRM? How many hours did you study?
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Even if it’s for feedback, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
I’m studying for the SHRM-CP with the Mometrix (study guides, online course, and flash cards), however I’m super overwhelmed with all of the information. What are some best practices to ensure I grasp all of the concept ? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
How does everyone feel about the online SHRM learning for SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP for Certification? Do you skip around? Do you follow the path? Where does one start?
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
For those in smaller high growth tech companies, where do you turn for resources on org development, engagement, trends, etc.? I’m moving from a large tech org to a a 150 person company. SHRM does not seem relevant at all. Podcasts, social media followings, etc?
Is it easy to get a nonconsulting role in Social Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility, Purpose & People? MSHR and SHRM-SCP with 10+ years of experience in compliance, global mobility, people development, workforce strategy and disability advocacy.
Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.
Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
Thoughts on Prosci or SHRM-SCP certification? Which would be considered more valuable or highly regarded? Currently focused on Change Management but have a HR background (industry experience / area of study in college).
Hoping to seek everyone’s advice here! I recently moved in-house and have more free time to invest in myself. Which direction would you suggest that I look to for growth? - UX/UI - Coding - Data Analytics - SHRM - PMP - Others?
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
Tis the season for mileage runs. Being new to constant travel, I’m not close enough to the next level. However.. share you’re craziest mileage run story! Living vicariously. Miles, cost, legs, time...
Found a Business Transformation role at IBM that is of particular interest to me and fits my skill set extremely well. I have approximately 8 YOE with 3 YOE at the consulting level. (cont.
I left the US last year and now I'm thinking about going back there.. I used only 2.5 years of my H1B. What are my chances of getting a job in the US while I am physically not present in there? How should I communicate that "I'm not on h1b right now but I'm eligible for transfer" to recruiters ? Would appreciate any advice
How does someone get good at case interview? Been watching so many interviews but feel like I'm just getting more confused?
How's Edelman NY? Getting hit up for Health which I've never done. It'll entail moving from advertising to PR/earned creative as they call it, and the Health category. Didn't sound like hard sell pharma, quite a bit of branded video content. I searched on FB, sounded mostly negative culturally (employee fired during Pride month, political, creatives better watch their backs, climate denier) with a few who love it. Figured I'll ask if anything's changed, if it's even worth ... considering.
What’s the salary range for managing director at Navigant or FTI consulting in healthcare.
Tore my calf muscle this weekend. My first reaction (other than "fuck this hurts") was "WFH this week!" Think it's time for a new job, maybe?
If you are a generalist and not technical, how do you answer in an interview when someone asks about your areas of expertise?
Okay… all kidding aside, is there anything positive about KPMG? The internet and social media makes fun of them. My leadership makes fun of them. Other big 4 friends make fun of them. MBB makes fun of them. Do they do that bad of a job + have that many shady things going on?
Now that the CDC says no masks needed indoors if vaccinated, is anybody concerned what that means for kids under 12? I’m assuming that the honor system isn’t entirely going to work (I.e., some unvaccinated people will go maskless). I don’t want my 5 and 7 year olds around unvaccinated unmasked strangers, but it’s also a bummer to stop taking them places. Not that I was taking them that many places, but the occasional grocery store, shoe store, etc. seems riskier now.
EXP on American. Book a ticket on Delta for the first time. Need to make a change and the hold time is over 2 hours. Seriously Delta??????
Can someone who has been through Slalom interview phase please guide me on what to expect during an Interview with the Managing Director(MD) ? How should I prepare for this? I hear MD one is formality but I am not taking any chances. I am going for a Senior Principal - D & A in UK. I already did 2 interviews, 1 upcoming with Practice Area Lead tomorrow and MD on Friday. All tips and guidance highly appreciated. Thanks
Got a great offer at another consulting firm but worried about prospect of getting laid off after joining given current climate. Thoughts?
Hi All, Can any one tell about the salary structure of EY? Does it include insurance, gratuity in CTC? What are the benefits and perks of EY? Thanks in advance
What approach do you prefer to take when a client thinks the billable hours on an invoice are too high, but you think they are reasonable based on the work performed/deliverables?
Due to COVID impact on my family, I had to take a long break (10 months) from work, went back to the home country and be with them. Since things are settled now I would like to get back to work. I have over 9 years of experience and on H1-B visa. How should I justify the gap to the recruiters? What kind of questions can I expect?
Does thinking about ur project at home count as "billable hours"?Apparently my manager thinks so. The joy of fed consulting.
