Yeah IBM I ain’t arriving that early. Arrive 30 mins before boarding tops
What's DL? Is this a domestic or international flight? The advice is always get to the airport 2 hours before a domestic departure and 3 hours before an international one.
DL is delta; flight is domestic. I almost never arrive more than an hour before wheels up - just don’t fly out of New York too often and not sure how long it takes to get from midtown to JFK on a Wednesday morning.
People who arrive 2 hours before departure spend too much of their lives in airports.

All of y’all like to live dangerously 😬

Same. I once had bad traffic (construction at LGA) and almost missed my flight. Ran to the gate and onto the plane as they closed boarding. Now I show up 1 hour 30 minutes early.
Depending how you plan on getting there car or subway I’d check Google maps to check the transit time during that time and work from there
I would be in the lobby calling my Uber no later than at 7:30. You never know what traffic will be like.
The app Citymapper is my friend for this kind of stuff. Will give multiple transport options and times.
Unless you are prepared to miss your flight, at a minimum, look up the length of time it takes to grab the subway/air train from midtown to JFK, work backwards from when you want to arrive, and plan on leaving by then (even if you’re taking a car). Too many variables on a Wednesday AM drive to JFK.
My rule is to arrive 1 hr before boarding (Also have precheck/clear)
Get there 30min before boarding. You've got precheck so should be painless.
Work backwards from that, because the biggest variable in NYC is transport to airport. Traffic changes on a dime.
Once took me an hour to get downtown from LGA. Friend landed 1hr later and it only took them 25min
