9 PM on a Sunday has to be the worst hour. Ive been in consulting for 4 years and I’m honestly tired. I make 140k, i hope my hop to industry for a year can match that or be the same. I only got 8-9 more months in me before i tap out.

I remember Sunday evenings in consulting when I worked at Deloitte. The knowledge that I was getting up at 4:30am to get on an ERJ-900 to some small city and grind.
I switched to PE DD consulting at a T2 and traded travel for 15-20 more hours per week of work.
Think about what you like and don’t like about your work and use that as an exit plan. Don’t leave and just take something because it is more chill than what you’re doing now.

Great question. I left DD life several years ago to go to a PE portco for an exec role. We had a successful exit a couple of years later. Got a nice little check out of it. At another portco now as VP of Transformation and chief of staff.
Life is really good. My hours and stress level are way lower. 100% the right move for me.

Hmmm Sometimes I wonder if I made the right career choice. I’m in IA and make close to $140K, and while I don’t experience the same level of stress you do, the work is feel pretty dull..
