A producer looked me dead in the eye last week and said, “You’re lucky to even be here. A lot of people would kill for this job.” I know this industry is competitive, but I’m so tired of being guilt-tripped into gratitude while being overworked and underpaid. How do you respond when someone pulls that line?

I’d fire back: “If they’d kill for it, let them have it.” That line is emotional blackmail, plain and simple. Gratitude doesn’t mean accepting mistreatment.

Ouch! That’s brutal! I’ve experienced people like that and they are so stubborn. I always like the phrase kindness is the best killer and I think if you just keep to that motto and do your job well (without being overworked!) they’ll eventually treat you right.

I had requested a super brutal resume review a couple of days back here and got some excellent feedback. Added indents and cut down content (there was a lot more text earlier) according to suggestions.

Will be extremely grateful for an additional review with the changes. I am looking for business intelligence and business analyst roles.

I am also looking for a referral in Deloitte +kpmg for a systems/bi analyst role, will be super grateful for some help there too.

However I hear so many stories of how people in cloud , ML or data science earn huge packages.

If possible could you help me with what to learn and any resources for that ?
