Usually because it's filmed using "real" people, vs fictional people or characters. Obviously it isn't an example of reality for most people/anyone and a lot of it's scripted. But the people starring in the show are real, aka not invented.
Well because it's "based" on reality, and the idea is to sell you the illusion that whatever you're seeing on the screen is "reality". It's just another genre of manufactured content
You're not supposed to take the "reality" tagline literally, it's just the selling point of that type of content. It filming real people in "unscripted" settings but we all know it's hardly like that
We call it that because it's part of building the illusion that what you're watching is the real life of whoever is the subject for the particular show. Some of it is definitely not scripted but for the most part it's manufactured
Reality TV is not the actual reality. We shouldn't take it literally. It is already curated for the audience.
Reality TV differs from actual TV shows because they're not actors. They're playing themselves in real-life situations, and no one is acting. Even if some parts are scripted, and there is a crew behind them, it's still real people.
I guess because reality tv shows more "relatable" scenes than movies? The more dramatic the more relatable.
I think you had just given yourself something to think about because you are bored. Reality shows are those that did not have to rely on scripts. Well, sometimes it does for the sake of views. Now, you make mee confused. lol.
"Reality" TV has been deceptively titled from the start. I've worked on two reality shows and there is nothing real about them.
Solely because they are a representation and interpretation of real life events. The scenes are most likely creatively generated but majority of the dialogues are still unscripted. Nobody takes reality tv seriously anymore. The name just haooens to have stuck.
It's unscripted scripted tv lol
Great question. I also wondered that when I was still in highschool. But after years of experience, I can say that it's just a title/concept. Nothing real at all.
We love reality tv because of the illusion it gives. Our suspension of disbelief is at an all time high when we watch these shows.
