I find it so hard to connect with patients with things like chronic pain or fatigue. Disease just feels so obscure and multifactorial to me

Which kinds of patients do you find it easier to connect to then?

As someone who struggles with non-medicated chronic pain, all I want is for someone to find out what exactly is wrong and the best way to fix it not cover it up. That said, compassion fatigue is real. Have you tried asking how the illness has impacted their life and how many providers have really tried to get to the bottom of their issue?

I can understand that. I have fibromyalgia myself so I can easily relate to people with similar circumstances. Its def not easy to understand if you don't experience it yourself.

It can be really hard to understand if you don't deal with it yourself. One of the reasons I wanted to go into healthcare was to help other people (like me) who have dealt with mysterious chronic pain for years have someone who understands them able to help them.

I might need a little bit more context but I agree with the point of diseases being mutli-factorial. I think lifestyle is a huge variable for it.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

Hello all
I am a biology graduate. I worked in cancer research and development for more than two years. Recently moved to Canada, and now I'm wanting to transition into clinical research.
Most jobs I find online ask for atleast 2 years clinical experience.
Does anyone have any tips on how to procure this experience? Should I invest in a course? Or should I volunteer at a CRO?
I recently got offered a clinical admin position, would this count as clinical exp?
Thanks
