Lets be real. Connections will get you in doors in days that would have taken you years to reach on talent alone. Not saying none of the nepotism babies are talented, just that maybe it's easier to be talented when you attend acting school from age 10, are raised by actors or those in the industry, and only hang out with children whose parents are in the industry, and are cast in roles from the moment you can talk just based on who you are. Sure talent develops in nepotism babies but it certainly isn't what gets them in the door.
Connections (and money) will get you pretty much anything
Mostly, it's because of their connections. Talent just follows along the way. It's easier to thrive when you're a nepo baby.
Connections open doors but without talent those doors rarely stay open for long.
In many cases, a name holds more weight than talent unfortunately.
First and foremost, it's important to be talented if you want to make it in this industry. But nepotism can also help you get ahead. Without connections, you go up the stairs, and if you know the right people, you go up an elevator. That's pretty much how they work.
So much in this industry is about connections. There is amazing talent out there who will never be seen because they don't have the opportunity.
That's just the truth of the entertainment industry. Majority of them wouldn't even be given the chance if they were stripped of their names. Their parents opened the doors for them and have the audacity to brandish it like they worked so hard for it. There's only a few that I could think of like Dakota Johnson and the Gyllenhaal siblings as well as Miley Cyrus.
Does anyone else agree with me on Elizabeth Olsen. I really do think she deserves her success. Such a great actress!
I think some semblance of talent is needed to survive. E.g., look at how well Bella Hadid is doing compared to someone like Brooklyn Beckham
Bella Hadid. She's undeniably a nepotism baby but look at here now. I am actually surprised how she isn't the highest paid model yet.
No hate but based on my experience, those who have more connections are given priority that the ones who have real talents.
There are nepo babies who are actually good actors, like Dakota Johnson. There are some nepo babies that can't even act as their own father's daughter, like Idris Elba's daughter. Lol
