Absolutely, incorporating empathy and optimism has been a game-changer for me. I make it a point to actively listen by asking open-ended questions and genuinely engaging with clients' concerns.
Honestly, while empathy and optimism sound great in theory, I find them overrated in practice. Clients primarily care about results, not warm interactions. Being overly empathetic can sometimes blur professional boundaries and lead to clients taking advantage of your goodwill.
Some people are naturally better at this than others. I feel like it is kind of a play to your strengths topic. You have to have all of those things in some sense, but it just kind of comes down to the person on both sides of it. You have to be able to deliver and understand what the people want if you are going to get anywhere.
