In my district parents were told kids will be using disposable materials....I am teaching 20 years never saw a disposable art supply🤷♀️
What does it mean when you say you can't hand out paper? What are they supposed to do their artwork on? What art materials are you permitted to use only pencil, crayon and marker? Are you allowed to do any gluing and collage?
That was what my superintendent said last week. I spoke to my principal today. He said students will have own essential supplies like scissors, glue stick, crayons, pencils.. They can’t share anything. We will teach in three week units and make packets with supplies needed for remote students. They will watch live lesson and have meet period during week. I asked about handing out things. I He said should wear gloves and not collect art work.
My district plan sounds similar to what your district is doing with the special area teachers acting as a facilitator/babysitter for half of the day with one cohort in the morning and the same for a different cohort in the afternoon.
Oh my gosh I just laughed so loud after reading about disposable art materials. In the art room nothing is ever disposable you find a use for scrap papers and marker caps for object printmaking. I have no idea what to teach this year although I haven't even been told what how or with what grade level.
I guess since you can't collect any artwork then that would mean that you can't great anything.
