I’m not sure what to do…. I was in a meeting with a VP (HR) and other managers when they (VP) asked me to pull something up. I explained that template had not previously been discussed and proceeded to ask me in front of other managers if I “was on crack.” I feel conflicted and uncomfortable with how to address this. I felt humiliated.

Commission plan discussion:
I was promoted to Director of Sales and am tasked with revamping our sales commission plans
We are in a high margin industry, the majority of the team’s sales are transactional, so they are quick closes, and they have a base around 60k
Current plan is: 3, 5, 6, and 8% of revenue depending on different factors
I am thinking of streamlining to make everything 10%. (5% paid upfront when they land the sale, 5% paid once invoiced).
Thoughts? Things to consider?
I’ve been leading sales at my job for the past 5months+ and today a relatively new hire accuses me of stealing their lead commissions. 😭 How about you catch up! The audacity.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Hey everyone! Which is more beneficial in the new normal - a Master’s in HR/ Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a SHRM certification? Have a great evening!
Hello! I recently started a new job last week and just found out they hired an AAE who will be reporting to me. He starts in two weeks. This is my first official direct report (I managed an intern at a former job, but they technically reported in to my boss). I love mentoring (started a club in college specifically for this with my program) and I want to be the best I can be. Any recommendations? Looking for book recommendations as well! Thanks!!
