After a difficult day at the office, how do you motivate yourself for the next morning? Sometimes one bad meeting, stress, or misunderstanding affects the whole mood, but the next day still needs fresh energy. Do you disconnect, talk to someone, exercise, or simply reset your mindset? What really helps you come back stronger and stay positive?

Exercise, always. I have to blow off that steam or I'm just going to sit at home and stew over whatever went wrong. Then my sleep will be negatively affected, and the next day will be even wrose.

Thanks fr sharing your experience

Music does it for me. It's pretty rare for my bad mood to last when I have a guitar in my hand. It is so important to have something in your life that is easy to access and acts as a reset button for your mood.

Yeah music really helpful

I exercise and try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. If I don’t get enough sleep then I’m just asking to start the day off in a bad mood

Yeah agree with you sleep very important always

Exercising helps me a lot. When I feel super stressed or anxious, I go for a run and at the end, I feel calmer.

Totally agree with you

Additional Posts in Salaries in Finance

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Is anybody here a notary? And how much are you making from that? Is it a potential side-hustle?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.
