Government clarifies no WFH mandate
Government sources told CNBC-TV18 and other outlets that there is no plan to issue a directive or advisory mandating work-from-home for the IT sector. They emphasised that the Prime Minister’s remarks were only an appeal, not a policy directive, and that many IT firms already operate hybrid or remote models based on operational needs. Officials also ruled out restrictions on electronics imports despite the Centre’s austerity push, noting their importance to manufacturing, exports, and digital infrastructure.
