We wouldn’t need the Feds if our city gave power back to the police to prevent crime
For some reason I’m being censored and my comments are being removed. There is information about him defunding the police. Just Google it.
Here’s a simple rundown for the slow ones:
-ICE does a federally mandated job
-ICE gets surrounded & threatened by violent leftists (see: Charlie Kirk killing, etc)
-Federal government wants to protect ICE agents from violent leftists
-Local government refuses to do their job and provide bare minimum protection
-So federal government needs to step in to protect the lives of ICE agents
Leftists would cheer the murder of ICE agents just like they did CK. That’s why they protest the NG use, because they prefer that ICE agents be assaulted. Everyone knows this.
Do they pay you to propagate their talking points like this or do you just kneel and lick the boot for free?

Let’s be civil — more than one thing can be true.
States do have sovereignty, and that sovereignty is being violated under weak justification by President Trump. At the same time, Chicago is spending too much money on migrant support at the expense of its own residents, and not being tough enough on criminals (which is a larger legislative issue across the state.)
There are legitimate public safety concerns too — Venezuelan gangs do exist, as anyone living in South Shore or other neighborhoods where many Venezuelan migrants have been housed with free apartments and stipends can attest. Meanwhile, Mayor Johnson has proven to be an ineffective leader who isn’t acting in the best interests of his constituents. Governor Pritzker, rather than leading responsibly, often seems more interested in provoking protests and stirring division in a bid for approval, since his record as governor hasn’t earned him genuine support.
And yes, ICE agents yanking people out of their cars in school parking lots after classes let out is outrageous and unnecessary.
All of these things can be true at once. There are no simple solutions here, and no politician or government agency involved is doing right by all of us. We need honest leadership, not theatrics, finger-pointing, or blind loyalty to navigate this crisis responsibly and compassionately.
But let’s all relax and be civil with each other. Politicians want to divide us, but too much can and should unite us.

This isn’t a state rights issue. The federal government has every legal right to enforce federal law in any state.

Maybe they should do that before deploying a military they can’t even pay against its own citizens.
I’m always bothered by “I better not hear…” or “you had better not…” because there’s an implied “or else” that never seems to get articulated.
As an infantry vet, let me tell you, these Texan Meal Team 6 fatsos cosplaying as real military don’t really scare me. I actually think it’s kind of funny seeing these large and wish they were in charge turds arriving so soon after SecDef berated every flag officer for being fat.
If the feds want to waste their time and money with these guys standing around and cleaning up garbage around the federal buildings (which are not under attack, and if memory serves me right, the worst attack on a federal building came from a right wing nut job named Tim McVeigh) then whatever. But conservatives have lost the right to scream “bUt StAtEs RiGhTs” the next time a democrat comes in power and deploys the national guard forcing a liberal policy
