Always appreciate freelance work esp. in these end times, but holy god is the onboarding process, esp for big dumb holding co. agencies, utter torture. When you don't have an MIT degree/CIA training & therefore can't decipher their Byzantine gaslighty shell game Rubik's cube riddles & codes to enter their system - let alone get paid (so selfish, I know!) - they make u feel like YOU'RE the one being "difficult." At this point I'll drive 3,000mi to NYC & pick up my pay in bags of pennies.

I wonder how this is calculated in general. What is the percentage bracket of the bonus? Assume it is a high performance 9+ year attorney and the firm is profitable (even with COVID). I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?
