I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

You should confidently project yourself as a 3+ YOE developer. Recruiters at most startups and mid-sized companies will count your 6-month internship along with your nearly 3 years of full-time experience as a continuous tech tenure, although a few rigid corporate MNCs might discount the internship. However, your actual hurdle isn't the YOE math; it is overcoming the 'Solo Developer Syndrome' in interviews. Since you haven't worked in a traditional Agile or team environment, hiring managers might worry about your ability to handle peer code reviews, collaborative workflows, and structured CI/CD processes. To counter this, do not sound apologetic about the lack of structure. Instead, spin the narrative in your resume and interviews by highlighting that because it was an early-stage startup, you single-handedly established the internal development workflows, automated deployments, and managed feature delivery timelines independently.
Regarding your compensation, jumping from ₹2.16 LPA to ₹9.38 LPA is exceptional growth, which sets a high benchmark for your next switch. If you target fast-growing, product-based startups (Series A/B), you can easily demand a ₹13 LPA to ₹16 LPA range because they heavily reward end-to-end execution, versatility, and speed. On the other hand, if you apply to service-based MNCs, your realistic range will be restricted to ₹11 LPA to ₹13 LPA due to their rigid internal salary bands and heavy emphasis on process compliance over individual ownership. Before you start interviewing, quickly brush up on standard Agile/Scrum terminologies and Git branching workflows (like Gitflow) so you can confidently bridge the process gap during technical rounds.
Helps a lot brother thank you
