Yep. My mother was a librarian and brought me to the library to read instead of childcare most afternoons after school when I was a young child. Had a direct impact on my profession, how I see the world, my ability to critically think, etc. I wouldn't be the same had she not been so passionate about books, I wanted to be just like her so I fell in love with them as well.
This has been 100% true in my own home. My wife is a freelancer, and whenever our daughter sees a laptop or keyboard, she has to "go to work" like Mommy. Same with other things. When I was laid up after surgery and binge watching a show, my daughter was very more temperamental about getting TV time too. When I turned the TV off more, she did more imaginative play, reading, puzzles, etc.
I agree! I also encourage my kid to start reading a book she likes and discuss it with me whenever she's finished. She would sometimes join me whenever she sees me reading. I am also amazed by her questions. Precious curious little pumpkin!
