Now may be the best time to make a change. Usually a merger depending on the firm who bought out the firm you are at is not good. Can be changes not used to as the new firm brings and changes policies to align with the survival firm

The firm I work for was sold to another local independent RIA. They are keeping on all employees. Advice on how to best transition for clients? Tips on how to get to know the new team in the middle of a pandemic?

Understand the mindset of the principals who are the buyers. Their vision permeates down. Confer with your direct supervisor to get their feel on what’s next post merger. Avoid heresay and rumor, and form your conclusion about what the new culture will look like.

Hello Everyone,

I have received offer letter from Optum Global Solutions India recently and I am seriously considering joining it(I also have offers from Deloitte USI and Verizon).
My breakup annexure mentions 4 components apart from RRP and PF. Basic, HRA, Flexi, Special Allowance. Either the Special Allowance or the Flexi is not included in the CTC mentioned in offer letter. So I want to understand how the Flexi and Special Allowance are paid monthly. Can someone please help?

ADV clarification - i am now part of a smaller RIA, no longer affiliated with a B/D. I am trying to fully understand ADV requirements. Are there 3 main parts? Part 1, Part 2A and Part 2B?

Part of a BD now, thinking of going on my own as RIA. Costs would be about 50% less, which makes it seem like an obvious choice. Have a deep family friend relationship with current firm, though. I don’t want to burn a bridge, but am I crazy to be a bit upset that the relationship could keep me from doing what I think may be right? Really struggling with that part of the decision.
