I recently got an offer from Amazon for sde new grad and I’m thinking if I should join or not as I have heard a lot about toxic work culture. I’m getting a base of 129k + 27k joining bonus and 94k in stocks. It is higher than my current salary but I’m getting a lower title. What should I do? Should I negotiate on salary ? Or on the role? Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!
