Without any details on what you prioritize, Mazda MX-5 / Miata is the generic answer. Inexpensive, reliable, nimble, and fun.

For what it’s worth, I use a BMW E36 cabriolet as a fair weather car and have taken it on many road trips without issue.
Any 2005-2012 ram, f-150, Silverado. I have alot of fun w my 2005 ram buying and selling stuff on fb marketplace in far off towns, use it for camping too. Bought it for $1000 5 years ago and have put 70k miles on it. I don't hesitate to hop in and do a 12 hour drive, never broken down on me. I'm shopping a replacement and see lots of good options in the $8k range.

I would probably pick up the lowest mileage N54/N55 335i I could afford. These are solid engines when maintained, and parts aren't too bad to replace if you are at all handy. Also easy to modify if you are willing to risk a little reliability and are in a position to fix stuff.
