Grow your network! You should look for those clients who will recommend you (or bring you to their new companies when they move); colleagues who can help you build your internal brand to help grow your career; professionals in your industry and/or geography who want to keep enhancing their personal & professional skills.

Sales is an amazing role to be in and a great opportunity to meet a wide array of people.

Never assume something is a "done deal" until it's really a done deal. Don't take rejection personally. It's part of the job and can be a great learning tool.

Hey all - 2 years in consulting so far as a fairly "type b" personality - relaxed, uncompetitive, enjoy socializing with my colleagues. To be clear, this is not the same as being lazy or irresponsible - I am diligent and do my work well.

Nonetheless I think we can generally say finance/professional services etc. reward "type a" habitudes on its face.

For those who have obtained the CFF certification:
I was asked to put together a working plan to obtain my CFF credential. I’m aware of the 2 certificate program (Core and Specialized) through the AICPA that will lead to the CFF. Does anyone have experience in how long it would take to complete the certificates and if there are other necessary or helpful study materials that would be useful? For background, I’m 6 months into working at this firm and have touched a variety of cases.
