Any Aon pension actuaries who could help my friend understand the hierarchy of titles? Let’s say my friend has 10 years of experience, FSA and EA credentials, was a consistently high performer over his career, what would his expected title be at Aon within the core retirement actuarial business? Thanks in advance.

👋🏼 they do pay for your study materials. I’m on CAS side, but for us pay raises are pretty nice with first time pass bonuses and extra bonus for FCAS. Sometimes it’s easy to take hours, sometimes it’s hard. Pretty much a coin flip based on the sitting and what you’re doing at the time.
Any idea what the salary would be for 5 exams and 2 YOE?
Hello! I am on the pension side. Yes they pay for 1 round of study material. I don’t know what exam you are working on but if still using CA, we all buy material with a pass guarantee. We get a salary increase (<2k) and bonus (<2k) for passing (regardless of number of tries) depending of exam. A few exams are 2k or greater.
I will say it is not easy taking study hours. You will be assigned work and expected to do you work. You also can’t accept too little work, since it will also effect your chargeable goals at year end. So it depends on how you manage your time.
I have seen 2.5k-3.5k pay raise for other firms, which I thought should be the standard. I think you should ask to know what you're trying to achieve comp wise. May I ask your comp and exams passed and YOE? I want to have a better sense of understanding
