Had an initial interview with a recruiter at EY and stupidly lowballed myself when asked for what compensation I’d require. Was invited for a second interview….. but have I committed a fatal flaw? This bowl makes me think I should’ve quoted at least 30k more 😳
I have an interview scheduled for this Friday but I’m feeling very unprepared. I need more time to think through my professional experiences and how that translates to the role in question. How does it look if I move the interview to next Friday? Would that raise eyebrows?
Best way to decline moving forward with the interview process for no other reason than you just don’t wanna? Just saying “I’m no longer interested” to the recruiter after having the recruiter call seems a bit harsh, no?
I'm thinking about getting braids. What are your thoughts on interviewing while wearing braids pulled back in a bun? Yes/No, until you get the job?
I wish as many men were trying to get a date with me as campus students trying to an informational interview out of me.
Interviewing with Accenture for consulting role. What salary offer should I expect with nearly 4 years of experience?
Can someone from Deloitte explain the OCR interview process? Got an email to schedule a 60 minute virtual interview for the Strategy internship, and there weren’t many details provided on what to prep
Has anyone received/know of a HireVue request from Accenture (Federal) with the title "Introduce Yourself" under the Job Title portion? Nearly a month ago I applied to a role (with a referral) and around six months ago I had applied to another role, which is why I was curious on which role this would be in reference to. I'm also just wondering if this is a "serious" screening interview or something HR uses to keep on file (just so I can prepare accordingly). Thanks!
Can anyone give more color on the difference between what the “focus” interview and the “behavioral” interview entails for a consultant . Coming in laterally and recruiter didn’t provide much detail! thanks
How to ‘nudge’ a company into making a decision? Basically, my interview went very well, but the firm I’m interviewing with is still waiting for official go ahead from the client..., I’m supposed...
Feeling a bit down today because I’ve been applying, interviewing and getting several rejections. Nothing seems to be working out … I know I’m close but it does not make the rejections any easier. How do you cope? What’s the longest you’ve been searching for? Trying to stay positive & encouraged. TIA. PS I’m currently employed just looking to do more impactful & fulfilling work.
How do people study for case interviews? I have case in point but am curious to how people approach practicing them in person?
MIT Sloan admits this year want to share their apps? I am thinking of applying 2nd round 760 GMAT, 3.4 GPA, 7+ years experience, URM woman.
Didn’t successfully move on in a S&O mgr role. Thought overall the interview went well. What are the best tips for prepping and landing that type of role?
Scheduled for final interview tomorrow for a senior management role. Interviewers are head of marketing and marketing director. Any tips to ace it?
Does Accenture usually reject via email? Finished the entire interview process and they reached out to schedule a call. Was curious to know if I should expect and offer or possible rejection.
My interview for an internship lasted over an hour. Good or bad sign? It was more of a conversation than anything...
Has anyone interviewed at Summit Partners? Any advice, typical questions asked? Heard it’s mostly behavioral and they ask you to go through a mock deal sourcing call? Thanks in advance!
Anyone have any insight with the EY Dallas FAAS group? Have an interview with them next week.
W, St. Regis, or Las Alcobas in Mexico City? Also open to high-end boutique hotel recommendations...
For moms in California - can anyone explain to me how the FMLA/Paid Leave works in coordination with EY’s sixteen weeks? It seems that all the new moms take 6 months and I’m trying to figure out how that works if we’re only given 16 weeks. My husband and I are currently waiting for an adoption placement so I have no idea when I’ll need to use it, but I’m hoping it’s sometime soon :) Since I’m not actually pregnant, asking these questions feels weird, but I keep reminding myself it’s okay. TIA!
Ad agency designer desperately looking for an out but I have a possible new job opportunity. Here is my dilemma: Pros.... more money, no crazy client demands, pitches or decks or even prospective clients that will go nowhere (in-house), better benefits Cons.... this is a big one - it’s healthcare I’ve been at agencies with a range of clients for the past few years. Career suicide taking an in-house healthcare job? Especially if role focuses more on growth & performance over design?
What expense have you gotten away with
🐠 fam, are there any resources for people who have lost their income, therefore losing health insurance but need meds? Contd’
Creatives, if I send you resources you asked for in an email or Slack and your response is to ask me send it to the PM instead, I immediately view you as a precious child. Don’t be a child.
What’s the ethics around conflict of interest? I can see that you shouldn’t work for direct competitors directly (ie Delta and United), but what about agencies (ie Ogilvy and Publicis)? Or even by client (ie multiple agencies ok but you don’t handle Toyota with Ogilvy and Nissan at Publicis)? Assume it’s not explicitly stated contractually.
What do you look for when interviewing a junior associate (2-3 year) for an in-house associate counsel position? What are your expectations with respect to substantive knowledge? I have some interviews for associate counsel positions at some later-stage startup tech firms and would love some advice on how to stand out from all the other biglaw junior associates.
Anybody trying to be my Spanish speaking partner? Looking for anyone. If multiple people want to we can do a group thing where we’re all on zoom just speaking in Spanish too. I’m a beginner... M - Black - 25 - 7.439 (scale 1 to 10 on looks) - 7.440 (scale 1 to 10 on comedic level) - great listener - I have my dumb days like very very dumb 😅

I’m a 1st year prob 1 teacher & I just found out I’m pregnant (due mid-June). Definitely NOT planned and VERY stressed nervous. It’s hard to be happy right now. Advice on telling my principal, etc?
Does anybody know what are the maternity benefits and policy at Accenture? How many weeks of paid parental leave and how many months you have to be with the firm to have access to those benefits? Thanks
Which law firm is best for Business Immigration Law Associates? Niche area that many BigLaw firms do not have, but prevalent at more AmLaw100 firms.
Hey fish fam, need an expectations level set. Ambassador status, staying at a St Regis for honeymoon. Concierge emailed to ask the occasion ahead of time, and we mentioned again at valet, check in, and breakfast - haven’t gotten anything other than “congrats.” No upgrade. No information at check in re: amenities or “rituals” (e.g., 3 days in found out that there is a daily bloody Mary tasting - would’ve been nice to know). Am I overreacting to have hoped for something, anything celebratory?
I’ve been faking happiness for 5+ years and don’t know how to truly be happy. Have an awesome wife, 🐶, 🏡, in a great group at EYP, work is fulfilling, mid 30’s, family income $350k+, both of us have MBA’s - there shouldn’t be anything wrong. I’m a former intel case officer and interrogator that spent a lot of time working with Tier 1&2 operators overseas in high tempo ops and was very well decorated during my ~13Y of service. I do struggle with PTSD at times, but that’s expected w/ former life.
Thoughts on giving yourself a promotion to a CD when you start freelancing if you where long due for a promotion anyway?
Time to sell Zoom? Or hold long?
How do you guys cope with stresses from a bad workplace but can't quit due to visa issues? I mentally remind myself that I'm still lucky to have a job that pays bills, but sometimes it's just so hard
