I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Marital advice from points 🐠 please! I’m the points / rewards person in our house. Spouse couldn’t care less. Drives me bonkers when he makes purchases at stores where we have rewards but doesn’t bother to identify it. He literally leaves money on the table when not bothering to pick the credit card from his wallet that has the best rewards for the merchant.
