Any Genesis GV70 owners? What're your thoughts?
Looking at a 2026 model and seems it's tough not to like it on test drive :)

Former G70 owner and current GV60 owner, and we test drove GV70 as well. We obviously love the new Genesis line of vehicles and would have bought the GV70 if it were to fit our use cases, so I would recommend it if you like it yourself.

Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to answer them to the extent I can.

We bought both vehicles new, and during our ownership we did not run into any issue at all. GV60 had a few recalls on some issues that we did not encounter, and the recall was done for free so I can’t complain. Maintenance were/are al free as well, I believe the free service runs 3 years for new vehicles.

Between the two cars we’ve been to three Hyundai/Genesis dealers in my area, and I’d say Genesis has been trying to distance itself from Hyundai both literally and figuratively, but it’s still a work in progress. One of the dealers I went to I was stuffed in a cramped waiting room with mostly Hyundai owners while I hold back the urge to bust some of their lies to their less-informed customers (and I never went there again), and another one I was in their brand-new dedicated Genesis dealership building where they obviously tried to recoup their investment by upselling just about everything they could (and I never went there again either). The 3rd one I still go to, I’m still among mostly Hyundai owners but the waiting room is clean and spacious, and the service advisors didn’t try to charge me $200 for a “premium” air filter replacement, so I’m sticking with that one for now.

I have a gv70. I like it fine but the gas milage is trash. It also depreciated like a rock. If I could do it again I'd buy a 2 year old one for like 45% of the cost tbh.

Warranty is great. Have not had any issues (25k miles so not a ton) and the fact they'll valet my oil changes is nice.

It's weighty in a good way and drives GREAT. I got the 4 cyl and it's plenty fast (honestly would probably aim for the 4cyl over the 6 b/c it's fast enuf and the 6 is gonna get even worse mpg)

I really want to do a low key spec on my next car but it’s almost impossible to spec the GTS without black wheels/accents turning it into a more aggressive looking car.

Thoughts on if the GTS in a 7 speed is more engaging than the S enough to justify the compromise in wheel selection?

Will be in the market for a car in a month or so - narrowed down to Mazda CX 50 Turbo but the BMW X3 is only around $5k more compared to the Mazda Turbo trim I liked. Torn between these 2, would really appreciate any advice/insight in making this decision in regards to longterm ownership, rate of depreciation and maintenance.

I just had a colleague ask me my opinion on a few cars since she’s buying her daughter’s first car. Went through a few brands trying to get a sense of where her mind was, and as soon as I mentioned VW she said “oh, they’re owned by Mercedes and we had bad experiences with Mercedes years ago.”
