Avoid LBBS like the plague
AA2 - I think that can vary by location/group/person.
Bottom of the barrel firms, even by insurance defense standards. These really should be your last resort.
Lots of posts about both firms in here if you search. High volume low rate work.
You need to stay away from Lewis Brisbois.
P2 - having never been at LBBS, I try to give the firm the benefit of the doubt. However, in every case in which I have had to deal with attorneys at LBBS (4 or 5 now), whether as opposing counsel, co-counsel, or counsel for different parties on the same side of the “v,” every interaction is torture. There has been either no effort by the LBBS attorney to learn the facts of the case (meaning the pleadings and motions aren’t factually correct and require my firm to clarify, which is really detrimental on summary judgment when we both represent defendants), I get no response or very delayed responses to even the simplest of questions, the positions taken are typically hard-line with no thought into what the position might actually cost our clients, and the attorney turns over in the middle of the case - sometimes 2 or 3 times - meaning we have to spend time getting someone new up to speed.
tyson & mendes is AWFUL. probably as bad as it gets even for insurance defense. i’d rather work at a mom and pop plaintiff firm
The answer is never LBBS.
I know an honestly great guy who is a partner at LB in Baltimore. I’m actually shocked to see what a bad rep his firm has.
Both have bad reputations. T&M admin and management is like a cult and focuses more on cheesy marketing than supporting the attorneys/staff who are doing the actual litigation work.
