Hi, I have been looking for an onsite opportunity for years and it has been 7 years now in this organization and yet I have just a couple of expired visas where those were not even used. I do not know if it is just me or this kind of delay is normal to even get a short term onsite opportunity. Any advice?

What year did you gain INDEPENDENCE to run LARGE cases?
I’m a 4th year and my partner let’s me run smaller cases but still not letting me run the largest cases in the firm, but I’m not sure when I should be running independent

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Would it look bad on my resume?

Midlaw M&A/Corporate 6th year in LCOL city. Have potential opportunity to go in house for public fintech co. doing substantially similar work. Comp similar to what I make now, but vague on upside. Not necessarily ready to move (generally like my firm and group), but nervous my in-house marketability will decrease the longer I stay at a firm. Any thoughts appreciated.
