I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Currently a 2nd yr lit associate (big law) in NY considering a move to a TX big law firm for the financial opportunity. Would leave to hear thoughts on this type of move or from someone who’s done so!

So the question has been asked a few times in the main Big Law bowl but keeps getting derailed into a political issue. As someone with a more conservative disposition anyway I'm interested in the day to day of life and work in Texas as opposed to NYC (or similar).

So, what are the pros and cons of living in Texas and working in Texas Biglaw?
