In one interview today with Kundyl. Their expectation is to be available oncall 24*7... With work from office.

They literally got offended and stared at me for asking about WLB...

Seems companies are not learning, even after the great resignations.. the big names... Like TCS, ibm.. are not doing any changes to their work culture and ethics to improve WLB.

I read to the kids a book that ended with a line like, "If it was a good story, start all over."I told the kids I really only did that once in my life regarding a book about a teacher going to teach in Africa. In reality it was about a missionary. I hid the name of it and what it really was about. In other instances I've also explained the meaning of life is to love sacrificialy without telling them the source. I feel guilty hiding the Truth. How do you speak the Truth without being fired?

Should I stay at Morgan Stanley or go for Walmart at 20% hike ?

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

Looking for some insight! What role(s) in GCP would be a fit for someone who is great at building research prototypes and then leveraging/leading software engineers to realize the details and build them out? Eg is there a role responsible for bridging the gap between the 'cool things' clients want to do and translating that into a prototype and technical requirements for others to code (in the networking/AI/ML/data science space)? What would that be called at google? Thank you!

What do you guys think the salary range should be for a 5th year lit associate at a boutique shop in NYC? Sophisticated clients, mostly international work, well known in their practice areas. Obviously it’s not going to be market, but still curious as to thoughts on rough ballpark. High 1s, low 2s? +/- ??

Hello. I currently work in-house as a Legal Operations Manager. I am working on a project to expand our network of law firms.

Any recommendations of boutique law firms in CA that have experience in commercial litigation for retail/fashion/apparel/home companies? Specifically consumer class action, unfair business practices, false advertising/17200, data privacy.

Thanks for your recommendations.

I’ve been working at a rather prestigious midsized firm in a big city for almost a year and a half now. I have been having a lot of trouble picking up work from senior partners. We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.

I am a 2nd year associate at a plaintiff’s firm specializing in toxic tort cases (individual). However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?
