Any suggestions of client to bookkeeper ratio?
I have employee with over 60 clients & she can’t keep up.

I would look at the revenue from the clients and see who many will put you and a decent profit margin if one person fullfills the work. Then determine if that is a reasonable amount of work for one person and adjust prices/workload.

like

It depends on the work that is done for the clients. I have about 30. Some are simple write ups that take less than an hour per month, others have more complicated transactions that can take a full day.

60 sounds like a lot. I thought the ratio was 15-20. Maximum being 30.

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

What does a person do who doesn’t find any industry accounting jobs interesting? I’ve been trying to leave for 3-4 years and the only thing that interests me is people focused roles such as sales. Public accounting is a decent spot for me but I’m wanting a more consistent schedule of 40-50 and the self centered/dog eat dog culture of my firm continues to crush my soul more and more the longer I stay.
