I was visiting a friend that worked at Amazon when there boss came by and told everyone to get to work. So I did. I’ve been there three months now, have yet to see a paycheck though, but the hours are great and the boss loves me so I make do.

OP you’ll probably fit right in. I’ve just moved to Amazon a month ago and have been seeing way more typos in their memos compared to the standards I used to hold my team for, ironically amazon’s training clearly shows they take much pride in their excellent memo writing skills. Otherwise, the culture seemed to be much better than public accounting.
Lol I was just joking. I’m not here long enough to confidently say this is a much better place to work since I’m pretty much still shadowing my coworkers. But it seems there’s a lot less fire drills or a culture built on deadlines like auditing. Based on what I’m seeing there are numerous systems and cross functional collaboration that takes several months to get used to. On one side it makes onboarding pretty painful, but I would imagine if you plan to stay here for 4+ years all those knowledge could make you very valuable and irreplaceable
