I got GS with ~$50-60k of spend out of NY (mostly Newark) last year. Mostly from trans-Atlantic Polaris for work in case that’s relevant.
That’s in the ballpark but not a slam dunk. Spend on UA metal matters (PQP on partners doesn’t count), and other stuff like home airport and the type of fares you’re booking also factors in on the margin.
I don’t know for sure but how your spend stacks up against other customers might matter too although I’ve never seen this confirmed i.e. they may want to limit GS to a certain # of people rather than everyone who does X.
There are spreadsheets and a lot more data points you can find on flyertalk.
That’s helpful, thanks. Will check that out
I was GS for 5 years - spending about 50-80K a year. Last year I did only $40K or 40K PQP (almost all United metal) but did not get invited for GS. So that’s a data point for “need more than”. SFO based fYI.
I was invited this year with 47k spend at sfo surprisingly
Depends on your home airport i.e. United Hubs have a higher $ threshold then random spoke airports like PDX or PIT
Oh yeah EWR I think you'll hit it, SFO I think has the highest threshold, given the number of trans Pacific Asia flights

$/mile is also a factor that seems to have some importance.
If all of your spend has been UA, you probably have a decent shot.
Rising Star
UA metal. Codeshares don’t really seem to count
I got it at like 38k but based in Boston. All first class travel.
End of year. Travel on United didn’t start til June. I got it the week after new years I think.
