No, you don’t have to be a Christian to be part of the conservative or MAGA movement. My belief in the nuclear family, being tough on crime, and similar values come from my traditional East Asian upbringing. People join the MAGA movement through different paths and from very diverse backgrounds. Not being tough on crime is almost an alien idea to most East Asian countries.
And thank god for that
Highly recommend donating time and money to Turning Point USA, CYP- Chicago Young Republicans, Northwest Side GOP Club, Illinois GOP, Cook County Republican Party, and college republicans at UIC or UIUC.

No you don't need to agree with everything your party does but given all of the breaks Trump has from fundamental values of conservatives it makes you wonder what they really believe.
Trump is not small government and infringes on states rights constantly.
He does not prioritize the middle class when it comes to taxation
He does not adhere to the family values conservatives espouse
He protects pedofiles
In his 2nd term he openly admits to corruption within his administration which he orchestrates.
He has increased or at the very least maintained our foreign interference
In terms of actual policy - it seems he's more of his own thing than he is conservative.

I used to go to that group in my early 20’s because of my “independent” friend suggested the group had cute guys. Well, the guys weren’t cute both inside and outside.

I'm sure there are Republican groups to be found. Conservative groups are a dying breed in this country. At the end of the day, if the goal is to actually influence politics in Chicago you pretty much have to operate from within the Democratic party and try to get somebody who doesn't think money grows on trees to be handed out to the teachers union or whoever else needs to be bought off. Unfortunately buying off voters and organizers is effective politics.
Dying breed? Not really. Chicago is just way more blue.
