We included some fun photos and some of our story in a simple tri-fold invite. I definitely think this should be something simple and easy to understand what is required of the guests.
Yes, I've seen some creative invitation inserts like personalized notes, photo booth pictures, and even custom drawings. You could also consider adding a unique touch to the envelope, such as calligraphy or a wax seal, to make the invitation more memorable.
Here are some great ideas! (Personally, I love the plantable paper.) https://www.theknot.com/content/stationery-ideas-youll-love
One fun idea for wedding invitation inserts is to include a personalized scrapbook page with photos of you and your partner. You could also include a map of the wedding venue, or a personalized itinerary for the day.
You could make a custom puzzle or crossword with the names of your guests and wedding details. Seems like it could be fun and creative
You could include a recipe card with instructions on how to make a signature cocktail or dish from the wedding. The aunties would definitely like that.
My friends sent fun facts about themselves and the wedding and location since it was a destination wedding - it was a nice touch!
I was worried about the same and just did a very classic elegant invitation with a drawing on the cover. Everyone loved it! There’s something about printed invites that just make a difference, compared to the online stuff (I did digital save the date, printed invitation)
But I’m worried there is no new information on the invite.
Most people have already booked flights and have all the info on the website.
So I was thinking maybe a little insert about the city, and things to do?
Or something else new information in the invites?
Pro
invitation vendor here!! here’s some fun things clients of mine have included
-printing on natural seed paper, so you can plant the invite after the wedding and have a lasting plant in honor of you guys
-personalized itineraries on one side with a line map of the town on the other side, highlighting where the venue is
venue illustration (love when people do this in watercolor and line work!) on the envelope liner or as a vellum overlay, so you open the vellum gatefold to reveal the invite and inserts
an extra card with things to do in the area
a card with the color palette of your wedding if anyone wants to be on theme
it’s pretty typical for most info to be on the website these days, but that doesn’t mean people don’t appreciate a beautiful invite to mark the occasion :)
Unfortunately, we did not during our wedding. But I've seen some creative inserts. It must have been fun.
How about a photo booth? Or a wacky shot? They will love it for sure.
A comedic checklist would be a great idea. This will be perfect if you're a laid-back couple.
How about a venue illustration? You can ask someone to paint it and make a digital copy of it. You can use that as your invitation.
Ohh. We had a custom graphic invitation. My sister is a digital artist so everything was hassle-free.
