We are working on implementing new policies regarding AI use for this reason. It's a helpful tool, but it needs to remain used as only a tool and not as a complete replacement for them as an employee.
We have policy around it too but it hasn't stopped them from using it. It is a tool... but it needs to be used correctly.

Ugh yes. I’ve found our fresh junior employees are either copy / pasting AI with zero review or fact checking or they have no idea how to use it. It’s such a strange dichotomy
Forever thankful I didn't have AI at my fingertips while in college and new in my career so I actually LEARNED and not just learned a ctrl + c/ ctrl + v command.
My boss (VP) is doing this and it’s so blatantly obvious 😳
not setting the best example for the team. Yikes.
I’m concerned that the latest crop of graduates don’t know how to come up with an original thought or solve problems. Instead of hiring juniors who rely on AI, why not hire a senior who knows how to create and solve problems?
Yes, it is a HUGE issue where I am. Also believe AI is a great tool when you use it appropriately. We are getting things that miss the mark completely and having to discuss with the employee what went wrong here, even though we know fully what happened.
YES! I always try to have a convo with them about it. I use it frequently... but it can't be the end all be all for work output.
We haven't have that problem yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came up at some point. We have cautioned people against using AI, and that seems to take care of it. And I'd like to think the newer employees are of the quality that they wouldn't be trying to cheat like that.
It definitely make it feel like cheating. Makes me wonder how much they actually got out of their schooling and if they were just ripping Chat GPT the whole time.
Not an issue here. We realized early on that this was going to be a potential problem and put guidelines in place to nip it in the bud. We have no issue with anyone using AI, but any AI-generated output absolutely have to be proofed before being submitted.
We have rules as well but some are definitely better at following the rules than others.
Doesn’t surprise me! The interns at my agency this summer were severely overworked so I wouldn’t be surprised that if even some interns were using it purely as a time saving tool.
Yeah maybe we start there... looking at you agency leadership.
An intern came to me this summer to share they were impressed with how I caught every single piece of writing they used AI for. This is just another tool, teach the kids how to use it wisely.
I like to think I'm pretty good at catching it. Agree it is definitely a tool. But like any tool you use it to build a final product. You have to use more than one tool in your tool box to build something worthwhile.
