The most comfy shoes I’ve ever worn!
I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

Some people might prefer an office environment just as you prefer WFH.

Lots of talk around this from our agency. What companies need to do is ask people if they want to be one of the first group to volunteer going in and NO ONE should be forced to go in if they don’t feel comfortable. I, for one, am not dying to get on a subway, risk my life and the lives of my family, for the sake of being a body in an office.
Real talk. At-risk groups—or those who live with at-risk people—should decide what they want to do.
Some people struggle with WFH, either because of interruptions or because they feel isolated. So for them, this is a real, possibly mental health, concern.
We also must accept that our firms have substantial overhead for leased office space that is going unused right now. Some are probably trying to figure out if they need to ditch offices if no one's comfortable going in.
That anyone is going to be forced to go to the office seems criminal if WFH is feasible
Who is saying we are being forced? My company is handling brilliantly- making it 💯 percent voluntary bc there are employees who if they can safely get to the office, want a change of scene from their 650 sq ft no balcony NY apartment. They couldn’t make it clearer this comes down to your own choice.
Companies will lose employees if they try forcing people back to the office
We are making it voluntary to come back starting in June. Our office has been preparing for a return since this started and we are all about in-office safety. We have the proper supplies, processes, handbook. You name it. It’s a bit narrow-minded to think there’s no negative effects of working from home.
No one is saying they are being forced, more that companies should continue with voluntary messaging. Honestly it’s foolish of any company to require people in the office for our jobs.
