The market is so much more volatile this year. The last couple of years it’s been slow going. Now it’s a daily swing

like

I’d be surprised if we didn’t get a reset soon. LEK didn’t lay anyone off during ‘08 recession, so less worried

like

Fundamentals are strong. Volatility exhibits autocorrelation over the short term (more volatile periods tend to continue to be more volatile and less volatile periods tend to continue to be less volatile) that’s why the market lacked volatility for so long and now it’s come roaring back. We will continue to see big moves in both directions due to the phenomena mentioned above, at least until the fundamentals regain control.

No. Stop reading market news and following every twitbyte

The market is fine. We’ve just gotten used to historically low volatility

Is anyone here constantly worried about getting laid off? I didn’t get moved to my next level (SA1 > SA2 > SA3 before manager) last review cycle (I was 6 months in the firm). Now I’m always constantly worried I’m going to get laid off. Overall get along w people at my level up to manager, but cannot get along with most partners and some directors. I’ve had good reviews from the former, and mixed reviews from the latter. Wondering if this is anxiety or intuition.

I have been unhappy about my current job for a bit now, been at the company for almost 10 years, and have started looking for a new job. I have a solid job offer on the table, but a newer PE group just reached out and are looking for a high level either VP or Director of retail sales (my specialty). I am more interested in this private equity group as I would get to build a whole team and really make a retail strategy but they are newer so I am unsure the stability. Thoughts on working for a PE?
