I seem to go through this cycle where I'll try to fix a problem, fix it and then go back to my old ways. I'm trying to fight against it but basically my performance review is coming up and I think it's likely I'm going to be let go because of my failure to meet expectations. Earlier in the year I was going through a rough time and working through it, I have gotten better over the course of the year but I feel it's not enough. I got fired from my last job. I'm so sick of this cycle

Sounds like “self sabotage” may be at play here. I went to a therapist/life coach who showed me my so called self sabotaging behaviors are really learned “maladaptive” behaviors from past traumatic experiences. In my case, I was able to halt these behaviors by getting to the the root of the belief systems causing the behaviors and the traumatic experience wherein said belief systems were developed. Now, when I see myself slipping, I know what’s going on and how to fix it before it gets out of hand. I also have way fewer episodes of this stuff. I have more confidence, I take chances and have high self-esteem. I would look into therapy.

Yeah I kind of just realized this was happening hopefully not too late in my current job but who knows. Regardless I know how to fix it in the future though it took me a while to get over a lot of the unhealthy thought habits I was having

How do you feel about splitting everything 50-50 with your partner? I don’t feel as rigid about it bc I feel it balances out one way or another, but my partner feels as if he owes me if we don’t split 50-50 and I pay more. I get where he’s coming from but 50-50 just feels transactional and not intimate.
For context: I make 3x more than he does and he’s still finishing his medical fellowship, so I don’t feel it’s a matter of feeling less than.

Sick of people saying don't wear a mask. Wear a mask people, if you have one. The CDC says only wear them when you are sick. But isn't that the tricky part of Covid19? That you can be asymptomatic?
