After that no matter what fluctuations happen in market you’ll get that many number of stocks as per the vesting schedule.

Equity is all allocated when you onboard it just gets released on a schedule. So if you onboard tomorrow, and the price at the time of onboarding is $2,000, your shares will be set at $2,000, and will move with the market. So yes, it can go up or down.

Based on the internal equity site, your "equity award is converted to GSUs by dividing the award amount in USD by the avg closing price of GOOG in the month before your grant date." Your grant is issued 6 weeks of hire date and doesn't affect vesting.
