Anyone have any recommendations for entering the banking industry from public accounting at the senior level?

Has anyone transitioned from being client facing to fully remote software sales? If so, what were the major differences in day to day? I'm currently on site with customers 3 days a week focused around hardware sales but have an interesting opportunity for fully remote software at a higher pay.

I worked in Congress for 4 years, in politics, as a lawyer and now as a consultant. I’m interested in doing work for public and federal clients, what firm could be best fit for me to transfer to?

Anyone know of any mid level mgmt careers that 20 years of retail Asset Protection/Investigations/Safety Management skills and experience would transfer well into?

I wasn’t sure which bowl to solicit advice from so hoping to catch a bite here. I’m currently in ID. Of course, I want OUT! My interests are L&E and corporate. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? I figured this bowl being specific to Texas would understand importance of oil and gas industry.

Is it a fail of character leaving biglaw? I want to leave, but despite the constant stress and suffering, I can’t avoid feeling like it’s my fault or that maybe I’m over exaggerating how I feel. All my colleagues feel ridiculously happy, I’m the grinch one that’s never enjoying the grind (but the grind is hard and competitive, very competitive) :( any thoughts? Is there future after quitting biglaw so young?

How does one go about switching practice groups within the same firm? I was under the impression it’s better to lateral elsewhere but I do really like my firm, just not the work in this practice area. Want to switch from transactional to litigation.

Would you say that GPA is a fairly efficient screen for aptitude in IB or other finance related fields? I get why it would be initially, but surely it should only influence recruitment for so long.

Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry. I’m starting a financial analyst position at a major hospital system in my area soon and want to stick with that for a couple years before making a transition but was curious if I just don’t have the right experience for a role in advisory.

Is CPA crucial to break into banking?

I am going to work as Audit Associate at KPMG in 2023. I am thinking to stay there for more than a year, then make an attempt into banking. I really hate the CPA exams for its soul-crushing elements. I am rather planning to break into the top MBA programs at the time. I have financial resources to do so but I feel quite mixed after getting the Macc for KPMG position without pursuing the CPA.
