Not as part of formal on campus recruiting. Would probably have to network and apply through off campus and even then highly unlikely. Manager experience where?
If you were an EM at a consulting firm prior to MBA, it might be considered, especially if you also had the demonstrated content knowledge of the relevant industry. That said, I’m not aware of any examples of everything lining up like this and us actually hiring at EM from MBA other than with our sponsorees.
I think analysis group and lek both recruit MBAs into positions where they manage some junior colleagues, but I don’t think it’s full engagement/project management.
I think its possible to do if the firm is similar caliber (eg tier 2 to tier 2 or if you had a lot of EM experience when trying to lateral (so if you were tier 2 but did almost 2 years at M and now going for M at mbb). Issue would be 1. an MBA hiring process is not set up to hire EM so you would have to do your own legwork and 2. people might question how rusty your manager skills are after 2 years off. If you were manager in industry and not a consulting firm then forget it. You might be able to do this easier at your old firm. If your old firm isnt MBB/tier 2 (so you are trying to move from say t3 into mbb or tier 2 strategy) then I think you would be downleveled.
Think there would be pretty big red flags and questions if someone was an EM at McK, went to MBA and then recruited to be an EM at a tier 2 firm. Don’t think I have seen it happen - especially since EMs like that are usually and likely sponsored
Know of someone who did so at a MBB, but it was an exceptionally rare case.
