You could split the difference and have a single employee to receive orders, be a friendly face, and make sure customers get what they need. Automate as much else as possible; can still make good coffee and offer people a moment of human connection.

It's an interesting idea, but the trick will be to differentiate it from just being a collection of vending machines. Things like that already exist in airports and other public spaces where you have what's essentially a self-service food court.

Honestly that is a really good idea. I haven't seen it done but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Anyone still doing print on demand drop-shipping businesses? Want to start a small clothing business but skeptical about quality of products from drop shipping suppliers. Any recommendations?
They have stand alone coffee machines in cafeterias and 3 star hotels. The issue is, there is always someone around to monitor that equipment. If you have anything unmanned in the US, you have to factor in vandalism and attempted robbery of your equipment, on top of having a repairman on standby.
