Anyone here who did a career switch to UI/UX design, what courses did you take up or how did you build your portfolio to land your first UI/UX job? I majored in Marketing but I see most UI/UX designers have a background in communications/graphic design. I do have an interest and passion in UI/UX so will need some advice on how to breakthrough into that field. Currently an account executive, and thinking of switching sometime mid next year

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

Hi there, for years of experience (YOE), can I include/count the work experience I had while still studying? Those experience include

1) internship experience -> can it be counted as YOE?

2) Startup I founded (actual startup, but it was done during my uni days)
